# Job Opportunity – Operating Room RN – Alaska**Start Date:** October 19, 2026 **Location:** Anchorage, Alaska **Compensation:** Details provided to qualified applicants **Schedule:** 3x12 hour day shifts; shift times vary between 0645-1915 or 0900-2130**Highlights:**- 13-week assignment at a 407-bed Magnet-designated acute care hospital, Level II Trauma Center- Epic charting system with 18 operating rooms and diverse case mix including trauma, orthopedic, neuro, vascular, ENT, urology, gynecology, and bariatric procedures- Exposure to advanced surgical technology including XI Robot, Stealth, and Mazor Robot Spine systems- Guaranteed 60 hours per two-week period; limited call coverage for call-offs only- Weekend coverage required; may float to similar units as needed- Free parking and scrubs provided**Requirements:**- Active Alaska RN license required (compact license accepted but Alaska license must be in hand for automatic offer)- Minimum 2 years of Operating Room nursing experience required- BLS certification required; ACLS and CNOR preferred- No first-time travelers accepted- Candidates must reside at least 50 miles from the facility- Experience with Level II Trauma preferred; exposure to a wide range of surgical specialties including general, orthopedic, neuro, ENT, gynecology, urology, vascular, and pediatric cases- Proficiency with Epic charting and surgical equipment- Previous travel experience preferred- Must commit to working 3 of 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)- Clean background check required; facility does not accept Nursys or background hits- Two professional references covering 1 year within the last 3 years**Why It's a Great Opportunity:**Join a nationally recognized Magnet facility that has been named the best hospital in Alaska by U.S. News & World Report.
