Contract | Travel | 13-Week Assignment | Day Shift | Monday–Friday | Start Time: 6:30 AM – End Time: 3:00 PM (shift may extend to finish cases) | Projected Start: 07/14/2025
Key Responsibilities
Serve as circulating RN in an active orthopedic operating room environment with 17 operating rooms
Perform scrub and circulator duties for a wide range of orthopedic procedures including large joint replacements, hand, foot, arthroscopic scopes, and spine surgeries
Collaborate with surgeons, PAs, CSTs, and NPs during surgical procedures to ensure safe and efficient patient care
Utilize Meditech EMR for accurate and timely documentation of perioperative nursing care
Participate in pre-shift huddles (Monday, Wednesday, and Friday) and support unit-wide patient safety and satisfaction goals
Fulfill on-call obligations approximately 4 times per month, Monday through Friday only, with no weekend call required
Required Qualifications
Active Registered Nurse (RN) license valid in the state of Texas or a compact state license
Minimum of 1 year of operating room nursing experience
Demonstrated experience with large joint and spine orthopedic surgical procedures
Ability to function independently as both scrub and circulating nurse
Proficiency with Meditech EMR or comparable electronic medical record system
Preferred Experience / Skills
Strong working knowledge of total joint replacement and spine surgical procedures
Experience working in a high-volume, fast-paced orthopedic surgical setting
Familiarity with positioning support and orthopedic surgical equipment
