Key Responsibilities- Provides routine and complex nursing care utilizing the nursing process, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation for assigned patients in an operating room/surgical setting.
- Administers medications and treatments per appropriate protocol; monitors for side effects and effectiveness of prescribed treatments.
- Addresses complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families in accordance with scope of practice.
- Documents patient history, symptoms, medications administered, and care provided accurately and thoroughly.
- Assesses learning needs and provides education to patients, family members, and caregivers; identifies issues and available resources.
- Makes appropriate assignments and delegates to other care providers as needed to effectively manage clinical situations.
Required Qualifications- Active RN license in state of employment or valid compact license.
- BLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) required.
- ACLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) required.
- Minimum 1 year of experience in an operating room or surgical nursing specialty.
- Ability to meet on-call, weekend, and floating requirements as assigned.
Preferred Experience / Skills- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
- Prior travel nursing experience in a surgical or perioperative environment.
