Obtain and record initial patient assessments, establishing care priorities based on age, symptoms, and psychosocial needs; reassess patients systematically to identify trends requiring intervention.
Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized, measurable plans of care consistent with nursing standards; modify plans based on patient outcomes and clinical evaluations.
Perform Point of Care testing procedures and implement timely, documented nursing interventions appropriate to patient needs.
Coordinate and delegate team work assignments based on patient and unit needs; follow up on delegated tasks to ensure quality and completeness.
Participate in patient and family health education and discharge planning.
Promote a positive, professional work environment; serve as a resource to staff, physicians, and visitors while supporting unit growth and organizational performance goals.
Required Qualifications
Graduate of an accredited Registered Nursing program.
Current New Mexico RN license or active Compact state RN license.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) required.
Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification from the AHA required.
Minimum 1 year of experience in Operating Room / Surgical nursing.
Ability to meet weekend call and on-call requirements; floating to other locations as needed.
Preferred Experience / Skills
Current knowledge and clinical skills appropriate to the age and type of patient population served in a surgical setting.
Experience in a fast-paced acute care or perioperative environment with demonstrated adaptability to changing schedules and workflows.
