Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Operating Room position requiring 2+ years of acute care OR experience and a DC RN license.

Details

• Work in the Operating Room department of a hospital setting
• Responsible for scrubbing and/or circulating duties for operative procedures
• Day shift schedule of 10-hour shifts, Monday through Friday, 0700-1730
• On-call responsibilities required for nights, weekends, and holidays
• 13-week assignment length

Requirements

• Active RN license in the District of Columbia (DC) required, no pending licenses accepted
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and PALS (AHA only)
• Minimum of 2 years of acute care Operating Room experience required
• Graduate of an accredited or NLN-approved RN program required
• BSN highly desired
• Two manager or supervisor references required, verifying experience within the last 12 months, with at least one from the most recent employer

Additional Information

• Perform scrubbing and circulating duties for a variety of operative procedures
• Adhere to standards and appropriate aseptic techniques throughout procedures
• Consult and coordinate with team members to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate intraoperative patient care plans
• Serve as a communication liaison between patients, families, and the operating team
• Prepare the operating room, assemble equipment and supplies, and ensure equipment functionality prior to procedures
• Must reside within a 50-mile radius of the facility
