Job Summary

The Registered Nurse is a clinical practitioner responsible for coordinating and implementing patient care tailored to the specific age and needs of the patient population. This role ensures that quality care is delivered efficiently and safely, in alignment with established standards of care. The nurse will demonstrate performance that reflects the mission and goals of the organization, showcasing effectiveness in clinical practice and quality work habits.

Responsibilities

• Meet expectations based on relevant competencies of leadership.
• Obtain and document initial assessments while establishing priorities based on patient age, symptoms, and psychosocial needs.
• Systematically re-assess patients to identify progress and trends requiring intervention.
• Develop and implement a measurable individualized plan of care within established time frames.
• Make comprehensive nursing decisions based on evaluations of patient outcomes and adjust care plans accordingly.
• Engage in patient and significant other education and discharge planning.
• Implement and document timely interventions tailored to patient needs.
• Evaluate the effectiveness of patient care plans.
• Perform various Point of Care testing procedures as needed.

Job Requirements

Education and Skills

• Graduate of an accredited Registered Nursing program.
• Current knowledge and skills relevant to the patient population served.
• Understanding and sensitivity toward patient rights in delivering care.
• Effective communication skills, appropriate to the developmental stage of patients.

Experience

• Newly hired nurses with two or fewer years of experience will be considered at entry-level status, with potential for higher clinical ladder levels based on relevant experience, certifications, or advanced nursing education.

Licenses and Certifications

• Possession of a valid Registered Nurse license from New Mexico or a current Compact state license.
• BLS Certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) is required.
• ACLS Certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) is required.

Work Schedule

This position involves a work schedule of four days consisting of ten hours each.

Additional Requirements

• Participation in 1-2 24-hour weekend call shifts may be required.
• Willingness to float to other departments as needed.
• Hospital scrubs are provided as part of the dress code.
