Registered Nurse (RN) - Orthopedics

Job Overview

An exciting opportunity for a seasoned Registered Nurse with orthopedic experience. The unit is fast-paced and requires attentive nurses to provide high-quality patient care. We are currently seeking candidates for 20+ week contracts to support staffing through the holiday season.

Core Responsibilities

• Provide care for orthopedic, neuro spine, medical-surgical, and post-surgical patients.
• Manage pain effectively for patients requiring orthopedic and spine procedures.
• Monitor patient telemetry and start IVs as necessary.
• Float to other medical-surgical units as needed based on patient census.
• Adhere to a patient-to-nurse ratio, expecting 5-6 patients, with potential for 7 in extreme cases.
• Work within a collaborative team environment to meet patient care needs.

Contract Details

• Contract duration of 20+ weeks, with a hard stop date of February 27, 2027.
• Shifts available: 12-hour nights.
• Weekend shifts required every other weekend.
• No on-call requirements.
• Maximum approved Request Time Off (RTO) is 7 days for auto offers; holiday RTO cannot be approved.

Qualifications

Required Skills and Experience:

• Minimum of 2 years of orthopedic nursing experience.
• Epic experience is preferred, especially for first-time travelers.
• Certifications: BCLS, NIH.
• Skills in IV start and telemetry are essential.

Preferred Skills and Experience:

• ACLS certification.
• Charge nurse experience.
• Experience in a Level I trauma setting.
