Location: Winston-Salem, North Carolina

Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants

Schedule: 12-hour night shifts, 36 or 48 hours per week available. Every other weekend required. Block scheduling options available (Friday/Saturday/Sunday or Saturday/Sunday/Monday). No call requirement. Contract duration of 20+ weeks through February 27, 2027.

Highlights:

• Fast-paced orthopedic and neuro spine unit specializing in post-surgical care and pain management
• Patient population includes orthopedic, neuro spine, medical-surgical, and post-surgical patients
• Nurse-to-patient ratio of 5-6:1, with flexibility up to 7:1 only in extreme circumstances
• Epic EMR system utilized; Epic experience required
• Comprehensive interdisciplinary support including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, and rapid response teams
• Up to 7 days of requested time off may be considered (excluding holidays); must work 2 of 3 major holidays

Requirements:

• Active North Carolina RN license or Compact state license
• Minimum 2 years of orthopedic nursing experience required
• Epic EMR experience required (first-time travelers accepted with Epic experience)
• BLS and NIH Stroke Scale certification required
• IV start and telemetry skills required
• Must pass EKG testing prior to start date
• ACLS certification preferred
• Charge nurse and Level I trauma experience preferred
• Willingness to float to other medical-surgical units within the facility as needed
• Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions only)
