Job Details

• Position: PACU Registered Nurse (Post Anesthesia Care Unit RN)
• Employment Type: Travel Contract
• Location: Winchester, Virginia
• Duration: 26 weeks
• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,800 - $1,890
• Weekly Hours: 36 hours per week
• Shift: 9:00 AM - 9:30 PM
• Shift Duration: 12-hour day shifts
• Weekend Requirement: 1 weekend (Saturday/Sunday) as needed
• On-Call: If needed, including second call
• Float: May float to sister units as needed
• Patient Population: 6 months through geriatrics
• Charting: Epic experience required

Job Requirements

• 2+ years of Pre-Op, Post-Op, and PACU RN experience required
• Current RN license in Virginia or a compact state license
• Active ACLS, BLS, and PALS certifications (AHA only)
• NIHSS certification required
• Strong Epic electronic medical record experience required
• Ability to work in a high-volume surgical recovery environment
• Experience caring for patients from infants to older adults

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, high-quality post-anesthesia nursing care to surgical patients
• Monitor vital signs, pain levels, airway status, and recovery progress
• Support pre-op and post-op patient flow as needed
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia teams, and perioperative nursing staff
• Document care accurately in Epic and maintain strong clinical communication
• Respond to changing patient needs in a busy PACU setting
• Assist with helping hands coverage on sister units when assigned
• Deliver compassionate, patient-centered care throughout the recovery process
