Registered Nurse (RN) - PACU

Position Summary:

The Registered Nurse is a clinical practitioner who coordinates and implements patient care, ensuring that quality and safety standards are met in alignment with organizational goals. The RN demonstrates effective clinical practice and possesses a solid understanding of patient rights while delivering care. This role requires effective communication with patients, families, and staff members, treating all with respect and consideration.

Responsibilities:

• Adhere to the OneCHRISTUS Competencies: Leader of Self, Leader of Others, or Leader of Leaders.
• Conduct initial assessments and establish care priorities based on patient needs, age, and psychosocial considerations.
• Perform systematic re-assessments to monitor patient progress and trends that may require intervention.
• Develop and implement measurable, individualized care plans in accordance with Nursing Standards of Care.
• Make informed nursing decisions based on patient evaluations and modify care plans as necessary.
• Engage in health education and discharge planning with patients and their significant others.
• Execute and document timely interventions tailored to patient requirements.
• Evaluate the effectiveness of care plans and make adjustments as needed.
• Conduct various Point of Care testing procedures.

Requirements:

• Education: Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
• Licenses/Certifications:
  • Current Registered Nurse license in New Mexico or current Compact state license.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
  • Current Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification.
• Experience: Newly hired nurses with two or fewer years of experience as a Registered Nurse will be appointed at a CN I status. Consideration for higher clinical ladder levels may be given based on relevant experience, nursing certifications, and additional education.
• Knowledge: Must possess current knowledge and skills pertinent to the patient population served and demonstrate effective communication appropriate to the developmental age of the patient.

Work Schedule:

This position requires four 10-hour shifts, including weekend shifts and rotation within surgical services.
