Title: Registered Nurse – PCU/Neuro Tele
Location: Lubbock, TX 79410
Duration: 13 weeks
Shift: Night, 3x12s (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM), 36 hrs/week
Requirements:
- 2 years of RN experience
- PCU/Step Down and Telemetry experience
- 1:4 patient ratio experience
- Epic experience required
- ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS
- Cardiac telemetry and dysrhythmia management experience
- Experience titrating cardiac drips
- Comfortable floating between units
- Every other weekend required; 6 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule
- Compact RN license in hand at submission
Description:
- Provide nursing care to patients in a 29-bed Neuro Tele/PCU unit with a 1:4 ratio.
- Care for patients with TIA/stroke, epilepsy, trauma, neurosurgical conditions, and subdural hematomas.
- Monitor cardiac telemetry and interpret/manage dysrhythmias.
- Manage and titrate cardiac drips, including Cardene and heparin, with capability to manage additional drips.
- Respond to rapid response and code situations as needed.
- Manage central and peripheral lines and administer blood products.
- Provide oxygen therapy and non-invasive airway management.
- Collaborate with physicians, PT, OT, speech therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, and other interdisciplinary teams.
- Float between units based on facility needs and scope of practice.
- Document patient care in Epic within a fast-paced acute-care environment.
