Job Summary:
Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Registered Nurse (RN) position in Marshfield, Wisconsin. This role involves providing specialized patient care for neuro, trauma, and general medical cases within an acute care setting. The RN will work a 12-hour day shift, contributing to a dynamic and fast-paced environment that requires adaptability and clinical expertise.

Job Details:

  • Shift: 12-hour days, with every other weekend and holiday as part of the schedule.
  • Required Qualifications: BLS (AHA) certification, NIHSS certification, minimum of 2 years of experience in MS, PCU, or ICU within the last year, and experience in setting within the last 1 year. Must have drip experience including Heparin, Nitro, Diltiazem, Amiodarone, 3%, and Insulin.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Experience with home trach vents is highly preferred. RN must be open to learning vent management; training available.
  • Additional Information:
    • Unit has a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:4-5 during days and 1:5-6 during nights, depending on acuity.
    • Common diagnoses include strokes, seizures, spinal injuries, neuro specialties, trauma ortho injuries, and hematomas.
    • Equipment includes vents, trachs, Cpap, Bipap, Vapotherm, and Etco2 monitors.
    • Self-scheduling available with managerial support; shifts are from 7:00 to 19:30.
    • Float requirements: Yes RN may be assigned to sister MS units covering six different specialties.
    • Dress code: Any solid color scrubs.
    • Orientation includes one general shift and one preceptor shift.
    • All clinicians must clock in and out at the facility.
