Job Summary:
Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Registered Nurse (RN) position in Redding, California. This role involves providing critical care in a stepdown setting, focusing on closely monitoring patients such as TBI/trauma cases, post-surgical patients, and those requiring high-risk medication management. The RN will be expected to have experience in telemetry, high-risk medication titration, and advanced patient assessments in a busy, team-oriented environment.

Job Details:

• Schedule: 12-hour day shifts starting at 6:45 AM, with three shifts per week. Schedules are arranged 2-3 weeks in advance initially, with planning extending up to 9 weeks. Self-scheduling is available.
• Required Qualifications: Valid license to practice as an RN, certifications including BLS (Basic Life Support), ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support), NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale), minimum of 2-3 years of experience in a critical care or stepdown unit. The candidate must have experience with arterial and central venous pressure pressure lines, titrating pressors such as precedex, and managing trach and ventilated patients.
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience with titrating drips including precedex, dopamine, dobutamine, and levophed. Knowledge of patient experience metrics such as HCAHPS and core measures. Ability to work collaboratively in a close-knit team.
• Float: First to float, float to Telemetry or Medical-Surgical units.
• Additional Information: Must have 2-3 years of experience in a specialty critical care unit; open to first-time travelers. The unit is very busy with quick turnovers and emphasizes patient experience. The team values self-motivation, teamwork, and dedication to the organizations mission and values.
