IMC/Tele Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled IMC/Tele Registered Nurse to join our dynamic nursing team. This position offers the opportunity to work in a step-down unit, providing high-quality care to patients with cardiac medical and surgical diagnoses.

Job Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional nursing care to patients in a stepdown unit with a focus on cardiac and telemetry monitoring.
• Manage post-procedural care for patients from the cath lab, including those with stents, pacemakers, and other cardiac devices.
• Effectively evaluate and manage patients' conditions, including those experiencing chest pain, arrhythmias, and heart failure.
• Administer medications and titrate various intravenous drips as per guidelines.
• Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure optimal patient outcomes and safety.
• Monitor patients continuously via telemetry, interpreting cardiac rhythms as needed.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of recent RN experience in a busy hospital environment.
• Experience with post-procedural care for cardiac patients is essential.
• Must be proficient in managing TR band compression devices and handling emergency cardiac situations.
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS (AHA).
• Ability to work a 12-hour night shift, including every other weekend and holiday.

Unit Information

• 29 beds within the unit.
• Nurse to patient ratios: 1:4 during the day through 2300 hours; 1:5-6 after 2300 hours.
• Charge Nurses take a modified patient assignment.
• Telemetry monitoring and strip interpretation are managed by a dedicated central telemetry unit.

Additional Information

• Weekend and holiday coverage is required on an every-other basis.
• There are available nurse aides to assist with patient care.
• Respiratory therapy is available 24/7 for supportive patient care.
• Unit orientation includes one shift of HR onboarding and one shift of unit-specific training.
