**Join Our Team as a Progressive Care Unit RN - Night Shift!**
**Job Description:**
- Are you ready to make a significant impact on patient care? Join us in our Progressive Care Unit (PCU) where you'll provide care to hemodynamically stable or predictably unstable patients on a medical/surgical unit.
- Your work will encompass physical, emotional, spiritual, and cultural support for patients with a wide range of conditions, including:
- Post-op surgical patients needing intensive monitoring
- Pre and post PCI care
- Pacemaker placements
- Carotid endarterectomies and more!
- Experience the thrill of working with diverse patient populations, including those with:
- CHF
- COPD
- DKA
- Renal failure
- DVT and PE
- Sepsis
- Operate advanced medical equipment and provide care for patients with:
- Central lines
- Chest tubes
- Nasogastric tubes
- Continuous bladder irrigation
- Long-term stable ventilation support, including CPAP or BiPAP
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure effective patient care delivery and achieve desired outcomes.
- Engage effectively with patients and their families while upholding the highest standards of professional nursing.
- Assess and implement established policies and procedures with minimal supervision.
- Become a clinical leader and assist in precepting staff.
- Provide direct patient care from admission to discharge, including discharge planning.
- Give directions to support staff, including RN, LPN, CNA, Housekeeping, and Dietary.
- Be prepared to complement the Medical Surgical Nursing Unit when staffing actions are needed.
**Qualifications:**
- Current State of Montana RN Licensure
- BLS, ACLS, and PALS certification required
- EPNC and TNCC certification preferred
**Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:**
- Proficient in the use of office equipment and multiple IV pumps
- Advanced ability to operate medical equipment, including invasive lines, chest tubes, and noninvasive/invasive ventilatory support
- Basic cardiac telemetry and EKG interpretation skills
- Familiarity with post-heart catheterization care and post-op vascular surgery patient care preferred
**Medication Management:**
- Manage common IV medications such as:
- Heparin
- Diltiazem
- Dobutamine (non-titrated)
- Lasix or Bumex
- Amiodarone
- Dopamine (non-titrated)
