Job Title: Pediatric Acute Care Float Pool Nurse Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Pediatric Acute Care Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night and Day Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum of 2 years Pediatric Medical experience License: California license required Certifications: BLS, PALS Must-Have: - Willingness to float to all inpatient care areas except critical care float, but including NICU - Willingness to be placed on call - Ability to work 2 out of 3 holidays (including Eves): Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's Description: This position is a float pool role, requiring nursing staff to care for a diverse range of pediatric patients. Nurses in this pool will care for all age ranges, acute care levels of acuity, and all diagnoses. The position entails working in various units, gaining experience in managing children with respiratory diseases, surgical recoveries, hematology/oncology cases, and behavioral health concerns. Travelers will receive orientation across different units to prepare for the diverse patient population encountered in this role. Candidates must be willing to float as needed to meet facility needs. Compliance with flu vaccination during flu season is mandatory. Nurses are expected to collaborate with an interdisciplinary team, including physical therapy, respiratory services, social services, and pharmacy. The average daily census is approximately 250, enhancing exposure to various patient cases and care requirements.
