• On-Call Requirement: Yes, as needed when census is low
• Floating: May float to Labor & Delivery and Medical-Surgical units

Pediatric Travel RN Job Requirements

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in New Mexico or an active compact-state RN license
• At least 1 year of professional Registered Nurse experience required
• Pediatric nursing and medical-surgical nursing experience preferred
• Graduate of an accredited Registered Nursing program
• Current BLS certification through the American Heart Association
• Current ACLS certification through the American Heart Association
• Current PALS certification through the American Heart Association
• Current NRP certification
• Current STABLE certification
• Ability to provide clear, age-appropriate communication and deliver safe, evidence-based care across pediatric and designated adult patient populations

Pediatric Registered Nurse Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to pediatric patients, postpartum mothers, post-operative patients, and general medical-surgical patients as assigned.
• Complete and document initial and ongoing nursing assessments based on patient age, symptoms, condition, and psychosocial needs.
• Develop, implement, evaluate, and modify individualized plans of care to promote positive patient outcomes.
• Recognize changes in patient status and initiate timely, evidence-based nursing interventions.
• Administer medications and treatments safely while monitoring and documenting patient response.
• Perform point-of-care testing and document results according to unit standards.
• Provide patient and family education, including discharge planning and health-maintenance guidance.
• Collaborate with physicians and the interdisciplinary healthcare team to coordinate effective patient care.
• Delegate appropriately, support team assignments, and follow up on patient-care tasks for quality and completeness.
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation in Epic and communicate patient-care concerns through the appropriate chain of command.
• Promote a respectful, supportive, and professional environment for patients, families, visitors, and colleagues.
