The role involves providing care for patients in a mixed unit focusing on rehabilitation. Experience with respiratory or cardiac patients is necessary. Patient care will include management of conditions such as traumatic brain injury, spinal cord injury, gunshot wounds, motor vehicle accidents, burns, feeding disorders, failure to thrive, spina bifida, cerebral palsy, and post-orthopedic surgical patients. The nurse will work 3x12-hour rotating shifts from 07:00 to 19:30 and every other weekend is required. The patient-to-nurse ratio is approximately 1:4. The ideal candidate must be willing to float within the specialty and to other departments as needed. Candidates will not be required to be on-call. Scrubs of any color or pattern are permitted. Compliance with facility policies and a commitment to infection prevention is expected. Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams is essential.
