The RN must possess excellent communication and critical thinking skills, be able to independently practice in accordance with procedural guidelines, be skillful in mentoring and teaching, actively participate on committees or projects and function within the Mayo Nursing Care Model ( http://nursing.mayo.edu/nursing-care-model/), which includes accountability for planning, implementing, evaluating, and communicating all phases of nursing care for patients. The Registered Nurse (RN) in this dynamic multidisciplinary clinic collaborates daily with physicians, advanced practice providers, RNs and other allied health care staff members to provide care through a team approach for patients traveling from the region, across the nation, or internationally to Mayo Clinic Rochester.
