Voca Healthcare is seeking a travel nurse RN PICU - Pediatric Intensive Care for a travel nursing job in Rapid City, South Dakota.
General Information
o Beds: 15 bed Pediatric Unit; 5 Bed PICU
o Experience required: 1.5 years PICU RN experience
o Will you accept a first-time traveler? Yes, only if greater than 2 years of experience? Patient Types
:o Will work through both Gen Peds and PICU
o Pediatrics: Patients 0-18 years of age and adult overflow (stable medical s/p appendectomy, s/p cholecystectomy, cellulitis, etc.). The diagnosis of these patients varies from respiratory illness, diabetes, septicemia, cellulitis, hyperbilirubinemia, neglect/abuse, mental health, trauma, neurology, and general surgeries. The general surgeries may include ear/nose/throat, gastrointestinal, urological, orthopedics, neurosurgery, and trauma.
o PICU: Patients 0-18 years of age requiring critical or intensive care services. The most common disease entities you may care for in our Advanced Care Pediatrics Unit include but are not limited to:?acute and chronic respiratory insufficiency, circulatory failure, infectious diseases leading to major organ system dysfunction, endocrine and metabolic disorders, neurologic diseases, toxic ingestions/exposures, trauma, hematologic and oncologic disease.?
Patient Ratios:o RN General Pediatrics - 1:5? PICU: 1:1-2? Required Certifications:o RN: BLS, PALS, NIHSS NRP is not required
