Description

TravelNurseSource is working with Cynet Health to find a qualified PACU/Pre-Post Op RN in Winston Salem, North Carolina, 27157!

Job Title: RN - Pediatric Post Anesthesia Care Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Pediatrics PACU Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12-hour Day Shift Hours per Shift: 36 Experience: Minimum of 1 year required, 2 years preferred in critical care pediatrics License: Active Registered Nurse License Certifications: BLS, PALS Must-Have: Must have completed at least one travel assignment Comfortable managing common infusions in critical care Description: This position is for a Registered Nurse in the Pediatric Post Anesthesia Care unit. The facility is a large teaching hospital with a Level 1 Trauma designation. The unit has a capacity of 20 bays and an average patient census of 30-40 per day. The RN will primarily care for pediatric patients aged 0-17. The nursing staff covers most surgical specialties, excluding cardiac procedures. Patient ratios are typically 1:1 or 1:2, depending on acuity. RNs will usually not manage any patients requiring BiPAP, as vented patients go directly to the ICU. Experience with common medications such as heparin and insulin is required. Additionally, candidates should be self-motivated, resourceful, and willing to work as part of a team. The unit operates with an all-hands-on-deck mentality given its open bay structure. Support staff includes transporters, receptionists, and a dedicated charge nurse who does not take patients. Anesthesia services are available 24/7. Nurses will also be responsible for telemetry monitoring. Technology used includes EPIC for EMR and Philips for monitoring. Occasionally, the RN may care for adult patients based on unit needs.
