Travel Nurse RN - Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) / Pre-Post Op - $2,005 per week in Washington, DC

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: PACU Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Shift Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: 1-2 years recent ICU and/or Level I trauma center PACU experience required License: Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the state Certifications: PALS, BLS, ACLS required; CPAN, TNCC, CCRN highly desirable Must-Have: - Recent PACU/Preop experience - Minimum 2 years ICU experience - Critical thinking ability - Ability to work independently Description: Monitor post-operative patients' levels of recovery and consciousness from anesthesia and provide updates to the medical team as needed. Obtain and record patients' vital signs. Observe patients for signs of side effects of anesthesia medication. Treat pain, nausea, and other post-operative symptoms of anesthesia and administer medication as prescribed. Update charting (EMR), patient files, and medical records. Educate patients and their families on post-surgery care and answer any questions.
