Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) Duration: 8 Weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 10 Experience: Minimum of 1 Year License: Valid State License required Certifications: ACLS, BLS Must-Have: - Previous experience in a similar role - Ability to follow ASPAN standards - Experience with pediatric, adult, and geriatric patient populations Description: Seeking a registered nurse to work in the post-anesthesia care unit. The nurse will be responsible for caring for pediatric and adult patients. Duties include monitoring patients recovering from surgery and providing post-operative care. Experience with various types of surgeries such as vascular, orthopedic, gynecology, and trauma is necessary. Candidates must be proficient in pain assessments and management. Knowledge of medication reconciliation and discharge instructions is required. Responsibilities include starting and maintaining IVs. Candidates should have strong skills in conscious sedation and monitoring anesthesia care. The nurse will work closely with an interdisciplinary support team, including physical therapy and pharmacy. Flexibility to float to sister facilities may be expected. Weekends may be required based on scheduling. Commitment to working on designated holidays is essential. Travelers may be required to adhere to specific facility guidelines. Candidates must provide references covering recent experience.
