Description
Travel PACU RN is needed to start ASAP in a hospital in West Virginia for 13 weeks. Shifts consist of 10am-7pm, or 12pm-8pm. Call is approximately 40 hours per month. Current unencumbered licensure with the WV or compact license is required. ACLS, BLS, and PALS are required. Number of beds – 18. Nurse to Patient Ratios Patient ratio pre-op is 1:2 or 1:3, phase 1 is 1:1 OR 1:2, phase 2 is 1:3. Bed Size currently have 30 pre/post bays. Also staff 6 ‘overflow’ beds as staffing and volume permit. Types of Patients/Cases. They do everything except heart/vascular. Patient acuity and comorbidities are high. EMR system used - EPIC. Medication system is Accudose. The professional registered nurse has the authority, responsibility, and shift accountability for the delivery of nursing care through the use of the nursing process. The Registered Nurse accepts accountability, applies competent clinical knowledge skills, and uses independent nursing judgment for care provided by self and by health care providers to who care is delegated to achieve quality patient care outcomes. The Registered Nurse must demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care that is relevant to the patient(s) under their care, as well as apply principles of growth and development over the life span. The Registered Nurse also must possess the ability to assess and interpret patient data needed to identify each patient's requirements relative to his or her age-specific needs.
