Contract | Travel | Full-Time | 26-Week Assignment | Days | 3x12-Hour Shifts (9:00 AM – 9:00 PM) | 36 Hours Weekly Guaranteed | Onsite

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide direct patient care in a Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) setting, managing patients ranging from pediatric (6 months) through geriatric populations
  • Monitor and assess patients in pre-operative and post-operative phases, maintaining a 2:1 patient ratio in a 16-bed unit
  • Titrate drips and manage complex patient presentations including cardiac and procedural cases such as TAVR
  • Document all patient care activities accurately using Epic EMR
  • Fulfill weekend requirements of 1 Saturday/Sunday per month (2x12-hour shifts, 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM) and second call coverage one weekend per month (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
  • Float to sister units as needed to support staffing, including an on-campus surgery center as case volume shifts
Required Qualifications
  • Active Virginia State RN License or Compact Nursing License
  • Minimum 2+ years of experience in Pre-Op, Post-Op, and PACU nursing
  • Current ACLS, BLS, and PALS certifications (American Heart Association only)
  • NIHSS certification required
  • Proficiency with Epic EMR (required)
  • Availability for holiday coverage including Christmas Eve and Christmas Day (preferred)
Preferred Experience / Skills
  • Experience titrating drips in a post-anesthesia or critical care environment
  • Background in cardiac procedural nursing, including TAVR cases
  • Comfort managing a broad patient acuity range from procedural to cardiac care
