Travel Nurse RN - Progressive Care Unit - $1,894 per week in Winston Salem, NC

Job Opportunity – Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Registered Nurse – North Carolina

Start Date: September 21, 2026
Location: Winston Salem, North Carolina
Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants
Schedule: 12-hour night shifts, 36 or 48 hours per week, every other weekend required

Highlights:

• ICU stepdown unit with 18-20 bed capacity treating post-rapid response patients, respiratory distress, unstable hemodynamics, GI bleeds, and various post-operative cases
• Patient ratio of 1:3-4 with progressive care environment requiring strong critical care drip experience
• Epic charting system with Pyxis medication management
• Contract lengths of 13 weeks or longer available through February 27th
• Comprehensive interdisciplinary support including IV teams, respiratory services, physical therapy, pharmacy, and rapid response teams
• Manage vasoactive drips including Cardizem, Nitro, Precedex, Cardene, Levophed, Dopamine, Dobutamine, and Neo

Requirements:

• Minimum 2 years of progressive care/stepdown nursing experience required
• Current RN license (North Carolina or Compact state)
• ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Must pass EKG testing prior to start date
• Strong experience with arterial line management and titrating vasoactive drips is essential
• Proficiency in telemetry interpretation and dysrhythmia management required
• Experience with central lines, PICC lines, chest tubes, BiPAP/CPAP, high flow nasal cannula, tracheostomy care, blood product administration, and IV insulin/heparin protocols
• IV start and conscious sedation experience required
• Ability to float to sister ICCU unit as needed
• First-time travelers accepted; local candidates welcome
• Flu vaccination required (medical/religious exemptions only)
