Job Opportunity – Medical Surgical/Telemetry RN – North Carolina
Start Date: October 5, 2026 Location: Winston Salem, North Carolina Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants Schedule: 12-hour night shifts (18:45–07:15), 36 hours per week, every other weekend required
Highlights:
Mixed acuity unit with PCU and Medical-Surgical/Telemetry patients
Patient ratios typically 1:4-5, with maximum 1:6 in high-volume situations
48-bed unit specializing in respiratory care including COPD, pneumonia, acute respiratory failure, chest tubes, and ventilator management
Contract lengths of 13-26 weeks available with 24-hour orientation period
Epic EMR system with comprehensive support including Admission/Discharge nurse, Assistant Nurse Manager on shift, Respiratory Therapy, Vascular Access Team, and Code Team resources
Patient population includes chronic trach/vent patients, telemetry monitoring, and complex comorbidities
Requirements:
Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
Previous travel nursing experience required
Active RN license (North Carolina or Compact state)
Current ACLS and BLS certifications required
NIHSS certification preferred
Demonstrated competency in IV starts, ventilator management, telemetry, CPAP/BiPAP, and interpretation/management of dysrhythmias
Experience with chest tubes, cardiac and vasoactive drips (dopamine, cardizem, heparin), tracheostomy care, and blood product administration
Must be comfortable floating to like units within the facility
