Travel Nurse RN - Progressive Care Unit - $1,933 per week in Winston Salem, NC

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Progressive Care Unit Duration: 13 weeks or longer Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience required License: Valid nursing license required Certifications: ACLS, BCLS, NIH certifications required Must-Have: Experience managing arterial lines and titrating vasoactive drips is essential. Experience with conscious sedation is required. Experience in PCU, DOU, IMC, Stepdown, telemetry, and interpretation of dysrhythmias required. Ability to manage dysrhythmias and utilize rapid response teams is necessary. Experience with IV insulin protocols, blood product administration, central line care, and PICC line management is needed. Knowledge of heparin protocols, management of CVA, chest tubes, and external CPAP/BiPAP is required. Experience with high flow nasal cannula, nasal cannula, non-invasive airway management, and tracheostomy management is necessary. Familiarity with isolation precautions is essential. Description: RTO after booking is not permitted. Any call-offs or additional RTO on the unit may lead to cancellation. This unit operates similarly to an ICU. Strong drip experience is a must. Patient ratios target 1:3-4. Mandatory weekend shifts every other week. Patients may have respiratory distress, unstable hemodynamics, withdrawal, GI bleeds, and post-operative recovery from various surgeries. The unit will only administer one pressor drip per patient; additional pressors will warrant transfer to higher care. The unit utilizes telemetry monitoring systems, and nurses need to recognize and treat dysrhythmias. Special equipment includes bedside telemetry monitors, A-lines, BIPAPs, chest tubes, and tracheostomies. Candidates should be willing to float to the sister unit as necessary. Availability for daily classes and EKG testing prior to start is required.
