Travel Nurse RN - Progressive Care Unit - $2,122 per week in Anchorage, AK

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Progressive Care Unit Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: 07:00 - 19:30 Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years in step-down ICU/IMC/PCU and telemetry/cardiac monitoring License: Must have a permanent RN license Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIH-SS Must-Have: 1 year of step-down ICU/IMC/PCU experience 1 year of telemetry/cardiac monitoring experience Description: Seeking a Registered Nurse for a high acuity step-down unit. The position requires strong skills in managing patients with complex needs. Staffing includes 1 charge RN and 6 RNs on both day and night shifts. Patient ratios are 3:1, ensuring personalized care for each patient. The unit is equipped with bedside monitors, IV pumps, and various respiratory support systems. Experience with trach patients requiring continuous BiPap and long-term vent support is preferred. Candidates should have knowledge of titratable drips such as dopamine, dobutamine, and nitroglycerin. Familiarity with CIWA assessments and alcohol/drug withdrawal treatment is advantageous. Emergent cardioversion and other procedures requiring moderate sedation will occur in a procedural area. Looking for positive, team-focused individuals who can adapt to rapidly changing patient acuity. Ability to thrive in a busy, fast-paced environment is essential. Physical assessments and intake/output documentation are required every 4 hours. Hourly safety rounds and bi-hourly positioning and ADLs are part of unit protocol. Bedside handoff is mandatory for effective communication and continuity of care. Weekends will be required on an alternating basis. Delayed start is used rather than on-call shifts when the patient census is low.
