Experience with similar patient population preferred.
Previous charge RN experience preferred.
Teaching hospital experience preferred.
Description:
The position involves providing care to adult and geriatric patients.
The patient population includes those undergoing burns, plastic/reconstructive surgery, urology, gynecology, ear/nose/throat, and oral/maxillofacial surgeries.
Special procedures performed in the unit include burn dressings, flap checks, and leech therapy.
Staffing on the unit provides interdisciplinary support from IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, radiology, social services, pharmacy, and transportation.
Candidates with only 1 year of experience may now be considered, but their profiles need to be reviewed.
Floating within the organization may be required.
Every other or third weekend is required.
Strong skills in arterial line management, blood product administration, central line care, feeding tube care, heparin protocols, and the management of dysrhythmias are necessary.
Experience in telemetry monitoring and wound care is also crucial.
Candidates must also demonstrate competency in isolation precautions and the management of various patient conditions including substance withdrawal, surgical drains, and the use of rapid response/code teams.
Two professional references are required, with at least one reference coming from a managerial or formal leadership capacity.
No coworker references are accepted.
Former employees are eligible for a travel assignment once they have been away for 6 months.
Current employees are ineligible for traveler positions.
