Travel Nurse RN - Progressive Care Unit - $2,236 per week in Oklahoma City, OK

Job Title: PCU RN Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Medicine Specialty Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Nights Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 1 year of experience in Medical/Surgical/Step Down units; ICU experience preferred License: Current RN License issued by the Oklahoma State Board of Nursing or a current multistate compact RN License Certifications: Current Basic Life Support issued by the American Heart Association Must-Have: Medical/Surgical/Step Down experience Description: Under general supervision, provides nursing care in a hospital to a variety of patients with health problems ranging from simple to complex. Assumes responsibility for an assigned group of patients. Documents patient responses to nursing interventions and prescribed medical treatments; notes all changes in physician orders for assigned patients. Assists physicians in the examination of patients and in performing minor diagnostic procedures and treatments. Obtains and monitors physiological data of patients, observes physiological manifestations of patients, and intervenes when necessary. Administers medications as prescribed and initiates, regulates, and monitors intravenous infusions and blood products. Delivers patient care competently. Interacts with patients and families in sharing care plans while in the hospital and at the time of discharge. Informs patients and families of hospital procedures. Makes referrals regarding patient care needs to appropriate personnel. Delegates tasks to support staff. Performs other duties as assigned. Knowledge of professional nursing theory, practices, techniques, and procedures is required. Ability to organize, plan, coordinate, and evaluate nursing services and apply nursing techniques. Maintains good working relationships with other employees. Demonstrates good verbal and written communication skills. Responds effectively to the cultural and language needs of patients and visitors. Some computer skills are required. An Associate's Degree in Nursing from an accredited program is required. A Bachelor of Science in Nursing from an approved program is preferred.
