Must-Have:
- Epic experience
- Weekend availability (every other weekend)
- EKG testing upon arrival
Description:
No Thanksgiving RTO.
Traveler will be contracted to the Emergency Department unit, specifically to care for inpatient/CICU level holds.
ED experience is preferred but not required.
First-timers accepted with necessary experience.
No first-timers accepted with only 1 year of experience.
Position includes floating expectations with a Helping Hands/Team Nursing approach.
You will not take a patient that does not match your clinical assignment or team.
Patient diagnoses include:
- Chest Pain
- Syncope
- Heart Failure
- Sepsis
- Overdose
- GI Bleed
- COPD
- Pneumonia
- Medical, Surgical, Trauma, Oncology, and Orthopedic as overflow
- S/p Cath with stent only (no CABG)
- ICD/Pacer insertions
- Cardioversions
Special procedures/unit details involve managing and titrating the following drips:
- Lasix
- Heparin
- Cardizem
- Amiodarone
- Nitroglycerin
- Integrillin
- Labatolol
- Dopamine
- Dobutamine
Required special equipment includes:
- BiPAP
- CPAP
- Vapotherm
- Alaris Pumps
- Phillips Monitoring System
Staffing and scheduling requires:
- Flexibility to be floated
- Potential call shifts
Preferred skills include:
- BiPAP/CPAP management
- Blood product administration
- Care of ventilated patients
- Chest tubes management
- Interpretation of arterial blood gases
- Management of dysrhythmias
- Wound care
Additional unit details:
Interdisciplinary support includes IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, and pharmacy.
The unit provides care for patients with a variety of diagnoses and conducts several procedures related to cardiac and critical care management.
