• Position: Registered Nurse – Psychiatric (Psych)
• Location: Grand Rapids
• Contract Length: 13 Weeks
• Shift: Night Shift
• Schedule: 3x12
• Experience Required: 2 Years
• Weekly Pay: $1800 to $2000

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients experiencing acute and chronic mental health conditions
• Perform psychiatric nursing assessments and continuously monitor changes in patients' physical and mental health status
• Administer medications, injections, IV therapies, and psychiatric treatments as prescribed
• Monitor patients for medication effectiveness, adverse reactions, and behavioral changes
• Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized behavioral health care plans
• Perform suicide risk assessments, crisis intervention, and de-escalation techniques when necessary
• Maintain a safe therapeutic environment for patients, visitors, and staff
• Collaborate with psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, therapists, case managers, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams
• Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans, medications, coping strategies, and discharge planning
• Maintain accurate documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR)
• Ensure compliance with behavioral health regulations, infection prevention protocols, and patient safety standards
• Advocate for patient dignity, emotional well-being, and recovery-focused care

• Active Michigan Registered Nurse (RN) License
• Minimum 2 years of recent Psychiatric or Behavioral Health nursing experience
• Current BLS Certification required
• CPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention) or equivalent de-escalation training preferred
• Experience caring for adult, adolescent, or geriatric behavioral health patients preferred
• Strong assessment, crisis intervention, communication, and therapeutic relationship-building skills
• Experience using electronic medical record (EMR) systems preferred
• Ability to remain calm and make sound clinical decisions during behavioral health emergencies
