Candidates must have a minimum of 2 years of experience. First-time travelers are accepted. Weekend requirement is every other weekend. On-call is not required. Clinicians may float to meet facility needs. Local candidates are accepted. Guaranteed hours are 40 per week. RNs may be required to work as charge RNs during shifts without additional pay. All travelers are expected to float to any age population when scheduling requires. Interdisciplinary support includes physical therapy, interpretation services, phlebotomy, social services, pharmacy, and unit secretary. Patient diagnoses include depression, anxiety disorders, obsessive-compulsive disorder, bipolar disorder, personality disorders, psychosis, and schizophrenia. Skills required include understanding a variety of psychiatric disorders and relevant treatment approaches. Crisis intervention and de-escalation techniques are essential for managing patient behavior. Wound care and medication administration skills are necessary. Floating across various units may be required based on scheduling needs.
