Description:
This position requires a Behavioral Health Registered Nurse with experience in acute care.
The nurse will float between units as per patient needs.
Weekends are required, with one weekend shift (Saturday/Sunday) every two weeks.
This role does not require on-call duty.
Expected patient-to-nurse ratios are 1:5.
Candidates must have at least one year of behavioral health inpatient acute care experience.
CPR training is necessary.
The nurse must be comfortable providing direct care in potentially volatile situations.
Staff will be trained to manage various psychiatric conditions.
All staff are expected to adhere to unit protocols related to patient care.
The facility supports patients with a full spectrum of psychiatric diagnoses.
The unit consists of 33 single rooms designated for adult patients only.
Duties include assessment and intervention for patients exhibiting a range of behaviors.
Physical engagement with patients may be necessary if there is a risk of violence.
The unit has structured support from interdisciplinary teams, including social services and pharmacy.
Experience in medication administration and crisis intervention is essential.
Registered Nurses should be familiar with charting in an electronic system.
Orientation and ongoing training sessions are mandatory.
