Description:
The registered nurse will provide comprehensive nursing care to patients in a rehabilitation setting.
The average daily census will be approximately 10 patients.
The nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:6 for all shifts.
The unit consists of 12 beds.
The nurse will float to other units based on need.
Regular floating may be required between departments as necessary.
The nurse will assist in the administration of medications including blood products and anticoagulants.
Experience with blood glucose monitoring, insulin protocols, and feeding tube management is required.
The role involves assessment and prevention of pressure ulcers and falls.
Advanced skills in mobilization techniques and assistive device application will be utilized.
Nurses must be familiar with safety goals and core measures in patient care.
Additional responsibilities will include documentation and patient education.
Skills in infection prevention and isolation precautions are necessary.
The position may require managing patients with complex medical needs, including those recovering from surgery or trauma.
Diverse patient diagnoses will include neurological conditions, orthopedic recovery, and debility.
The registered nurse will be expected to teach patients about managing their health conditions.
Participation in an interdisciplinary team approach to patient care is essential.
The registered nurse must adhere to all safety and compliance regulations in practice.
