Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients requiring continuous cardiac monitoring
• Perform detailed patient assessments and monitor vital signs, cardiac rhythms, and overall patient condition
• Interpret telemetry strips and promptly report significant rhythm changes to the healthcare team
• Administer medications, IV therapies, blood products, and prescribed treatments safely and accurately
• Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care plans
• Monitor patients with cardiac, respiratory, neurological, and medical-surgical conditions
• Respond quickly to changes in patient condition and emergency situations
• Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists, pharmacists, case managers, and interdisciplinary healthcare professionals to coordinate care
• Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses, medications, treatment plans, recovery, and discharge instructions
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR)
• Follow infection prevention protocols, patient safety standards, and hospital quality initiatives
• Deliver compassionate, patient-centered care while promoting positive patient outcomes

Requirements

• Active Washington Registered Nurse (RN) License or Compact RN License
• Minimum 2 years of recent Telemetry nursing experience
• Current BLS Certification required
• Current ACLS Certification required
• Experience with cardiac monitoring, telemetry interpretation, and caring for medically complex patients
• Strong assessment, critical thinking, communication, and multitasking skills
• Experience using electronic medical record (EMR) systems preferred
• Ability to prioritize multiple patients in a fast-paced hospital environment
