Description

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Cardiac Telemetry Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum of 2 years on the cardiac floor License: Current nursing license Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS Must-Have: Minimum 2 years of experience on a cardiac floor is required. Traveler experience is required unless the traveler has more than 24 months of cardiac experience. Ability to manage various cardiac-related procedures and equipment. Description: RTO after booking is not allowed and is not permitted to be worked out onsite. Any call-offs or additional RTO in the unit could result in a cancellation. The patient diagnoses include atrial fibrillation, CHF, ACS, CAD, and other cardiac-related conditions. Special procedures performed in this unit involve CABG, AVR, MVR, TAVR, and various vascular surgeries. Staffing ratios vary by acuity, with ratios of 1:4 for surgical step-down and 1:5-6 for lower acuity patients. Weekend requirements include working 4 out of 4 weeks, with flexibility. Contract staff may be required to report to work during catastrophic events or disasters. The unit utilizes medication and documentation systems for efficient patient care. Candidates must be open to floating within or near the facility as per job descriptions. A strong understanding of cardiac telemetry and dysrhythmia management is essential. Candidates must be capable of interpreting dysrhythmias and managing cardiac drips. Experience with non-invasive airway management and chest tube care is preferred. The unit supports interdisciplinary collaboration with various healthcare services.
