Travel Nurse RN - Trauma Intensive Care Unit - $2,157 per week in Houston, TX

Job Title: Registered Nurse - Cardiovascular Intensive Care Profession: RN (Registered Nurse) Specialty: CTICU Duration: 6 weeks Shift: 12-hour Days Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 2 years License: Active RN License Required Certifications: ACLS, BLS Certification, NIHSS Must-Have: CRRT trained, Ability to titrate vasoactive drips Description: RN positions require flexibility to float to different areas. Candidates must be open to scheduling changes, including weekends and holidays. Successful candidates typically have 3 or more years of experience in busy hospital settings. This unit has 12-13 beds and is a high acuity unit with ratios of 1:2 and occasionally 1:1. Common diagnoses include heart and lung transplants, LVAD patients, and valve surgeries. Daily patient care is supported by dedicated staff, including a charge RN who manages a patient load. Respiratory Therapists are present in the ICU 24/7, providing care directly in the unit. Nursing staff will be involved in managing and monitoring patients using advanced equipment such as LVADs and CRRT/SLED systems. The unit follows a strict call duty protocol with no standby requirements. Nurses may be required to float, based on competency and unit needs. The dress code for staff includes teal scrubs. Orientation consists of 2 to 3 shifts with preceptors.
