Registered Nurse – Wound Care | Brooklyn, NY | 13 Weeks Contract

  • Weekly Pay:$3060 to $3260
Responsibilities
  • Perform comprehensive wound assessments and develop individualized wound care treatment plans
  • Evaluate and manage acute, chronic, surgical, diabetic, pressure, vascular, and traumatic wounds
  • Perform wound cleansing, dressing changes, debridement assistance, and negative pressure wound therapy (NPWT) as appropriate
  • Monitor wound healing progress and modify treatment plans based on patient response
  • Collaborate with physicians, surgeons, dietitians, physical therapists, case managers, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams to coordinate care
  • Educate patients, families, and caregivers on wound care techniques, infection prevention, nutrition, and home care management
  • Identify signs of infection or wound deterioration and communicate findings promptly to providers
  • Maintain accurate documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR)
  • Ensure compliance with infection prevention protocols, wound care standards, and hospital quality initiatives
  • Participate in pressure injury prevention programs and patient safety initiatives
  • Promote evidence-based wound care practices to improve patient outcomes
Requirements
  • Active New York Registered Nurse (RN) License
  • Minimum 2 years of recent Wound Care nursing experience
  • Current BLS Certification required
  • Wound Care Certification (WCC, CWCN, CWON, or equivalent) preferred
  • Experience managing complex wounds and advanced wound care therapies
  • Strong assessment, clinical judgment, and patient education skills
  • Experience using electronic medical record (EMR) systems preferred
  • Excellent communication and interdisciplinary collaboration abilities
  • Commitment to delivering compassionate, patient-centered care
  • Ability to prioritize multiple patients while maintaining high standards of wound management
