Travel Occupational Therapist (OT) - $2,626 per week in Hattiesburg, MS

Job Title: Occupational Therapist Profession: Occupational Therapist Specialty: Client Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM, 1 weekend per month Experience: Two years of experience working as an Occupational Therapist in an acute care setting. License: Permanent or temporary license as an Occupational Therapist from the state department of health. Certifications: BLS (CPR) Must-Have: - Ability to perform patient evaluations with appropriate functional tests/measures. - Ability to assimilate objective measures along with social factors, medical stability, activity restrictions, participation limitations, and other relevant comorbidities to determine functional deficits. - Ability to construct short-term and long-term goals with appropriate frequency and duration. - Understanding of the principles of growth and development. - Ability to document securely in the Electronic Medical Record. - Ability to use critical thinking in patient evaluation and treatment planning. - Must be able to lift, handle, push, and pull up to 50 pounds. Description: The Occupational Therapist is responsible for the implementation of the physician's order for Occupational Therapy services. The Occupational Therapist provides necessary aspects of Occupational Therapy within an interdisciplinary environment to facilitate the return of the patient to an independent and safe lifestyle. The Occupational Therapist must utilize knowledge related to the care of patients across all age groups, including children, adolescents, adults, and geriatric patients. The Occupational Therapist should demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the patient's age. The Occupational Therapist possesses the ability to assess data reflective of the patient's status and interpret information needed to identify each patient's requirements relative to age-specific needs. The Occupational Therapist should provide care needed based on the assessment findings. The Occupational Therapist works as a team member to assist patients and families at all points of entry into the acute therapy care system and along the continuum of care as appropriate. The Occupational Therapist must interpret and follow physician's orders, cooperate with co-workers and leadership, and be responsive to patient needs and requests. The Occupational Therapist demonstrates initiative toward the completion of treatment goals.
