Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg Oncology RN for a 13-week day shift assignment requiring recent MS/Tele experience and BLS certification.

Details

• Work on a 30-bed Medical Surgical Oncology unit caring for oncology patients across all stages of cancer treatment, including end-of-life care
• RN to patient ratio of 1:4-6
• Day shift schedule, 4x12-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM
• Every other weekend required
• Floating required within the facility and to a nearby affiliated hospital approximately 15 minutes away
• Epic charting system used
• Integrated care approach with cancer institute and palliative care services

Requirements

• Active Oregon RN license required (pending licensure accepted)
• Current BLS certification through AHA
• Minimum 1 year of experience within the last 3 years in Med/Surg with Telemetry
• Some telemetry experience required
• Epic charting experience required
• Skilled in interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
• Experience with non-invasive airway management and oxygen administration
• Experience with peripheral line care and management
• Knowledge of isolation precautions and PPE use
• Experience activating rapid response team protocols
• Computerized documentation experience required

Additional Information

• Located on the seventh floor of the facility, caring for medical surgical oncology patients
• Nurses will obtain chemotherapy/immunotherapy administration certification within one year of hire
• Skilled in supporting patients and families through all stages of cancer diagnosis and treatment
• Requests for time off exceeding 2 weeks require approval
• Royal blue scrub color required
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
