Job Summary The operating room (OR) specialty professional is needed in Springfield, Illinois. This high-level position involves working within an acute care hospital setting with a focus on general surgery and trauma cases. The role emphasizes surgical procedures across multiple service lines, with an expectation of maintaining a high standard of patient care and operational efficiency during scheduled shifts.
Job Details
Schedule: Days, 4x10-hour shifts from 6:45 AM to 5:15 PM, minimum of 40 hours per week
Required Qualifications: BLS certification required; CNOR certification preferred; active Illinois license in hand or in application process; minimum 3 years' OR experience; trauma level I experience required; at least 50 miles residence from facility.
Preferred Qualifications: Cerner charting system experience; experience with laparoscopic, general, trauma, neuro, orthopedic, plastic, and transplant cases; familiarity with equipment such as electrosurgical units, Hana tables, da Vinci Xi Surgical System, Mazor Robot.
On-Call: Yes, approximately 1 week per month, with flexible scheduling.
Additional Information: Will work with all service lines except cardiovascular; general OR and trauma experience required; specific case experience includes laparoscopic assisted procedures, organ donation, complex trauma cases, and various surgical and emergency management skills.
Travel Experience: Required; candidates must be able to work in a travel capacity.

Facility Details: Acute Care Hospital with 562 beds, Level I trauma center, Magnet designated; parking permit provided at no cost; patient age groups include adolescents, adults, and geriatrics; 23 operating rooms.
