Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN - Operating Room for a Level I trauma, Magnet-designated academic facility requiring scrub experience and SC or compact RN licensure.

Details

• Level I trauma, academic teaching hospital with 21 OR suites covering Trauma, Transplant, Ortho, Neuro, ENT, GU-GYN, and Robotics
• Nursing team consists of 75% RNs and 25% Certified Surgical Technologists, with RNs trained to both scrub and circulate
• Day shift, 3x12 hours, including weekend days (6:30a-7p)
• No on-call requirement
• Float within scope to meet facility needs between like units/sister facilities as needed
• Magnet designated, nurse-driven department utilizing cutting-edge surgical technology
• Uses Epic EMR

Requirements

• Active SC or Multi-State/Compact RN license required
• BLS certification required (AHA only)
• Radiation badge required
• 2 years of OR experience strongly preferred
• Scrub experience strongly preferred
• Level I trauma center experience preferred
• SSN required for consideration

Additional Information

• Scrubs provided by the facility
• Must work at least one holiday period (Christmas or New Year's)
• First-time travelers may be considered depending on position needs
• Previous perm staff, including PRN, must be separated from the facility for 1 year before returning as a traveler
• Block scheduling may be requested but is subject to manager approval based on unit needs
• Local candidates accepted on a case-by-case basis within a 60-mile radius
• Travelers should be aware that during hurricane season (June through November, peaking in August and September), all staff may be assigned to emergency response teams
