Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced OR RN for a Level I trauma center and Magnet-designated academic hospital, requiring an active SC or compact RN license.

Details

• Works in the Main Operating Room with 21 suites covering all surgical specialties, including Trauma, Transplant, Ortho, Neuro, ENT, GU-GYN, and Robotics
• Nursing team consists of 75% RNs and 25% Certified Surgical Technologists, with RNs trained to both scrub and circulate
• Day shift schedule, 3x12 hours (6:30am-7:00pm)
• On-call required, up to 4 call shifts every 4 weeks
• Weekend requirement of up to one working shift every 4 weeks
• Required to work at least one holiday period (Christmas or New Year's)
• Floating required within scope to like units or sister facilities
• Uses EPIC charting system

Requirements

• Active SC or Multi-State/Compact RN license required
• BLS certification required (AHA)
• Radiation badge required (provided by agency)
• 2 years of OR experience strongly preferred
• Scrub experience strongly preferred
• Level I trauma center experience preferred
• First-time travelers may be considered depending on position needs

Additional Information

• Facility is a Level I Trauma Center, academic teaching hospital, and Magnet-designated organization with 820 staffed beds
• Scrubs are provided by the facility
• Candidates must reside within a 60-mile radius, with non-local candidates prioritized
• Local candidates may be considered on a case-by-case basis
• Previous MUSC perm staff (including PRN) must be separated from the system for at least 1 year before returning as a traveler
• Block scheduling may be accommodated pending manager approval and unit needs
• All employees and contractors may be assigned to emergency response duties during hurricane season (June-November, peak August-September)
