Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced OR RN for a 13-week travel assignment at a Level I trauma, Magnet-designated academic medical center, with scrub experience strongly preferred and an active SC or Compact RN license required.
Details
- Level I Trauma Center, Magnet-designated academic teaching hospital with 820 staffed beds
- Main OR department with 21 surgical suites covering all specialties including Trauma, Transplant, Ortho, Neuro, ENT, GU-GYN, and Robotics
- RNs are trained to both scrub and circulate surgical procedures
- Nursing team consists of 75% RNs and 25% Certified Surgical Technologists
- Day shift: 3x12-hour shifts, 6:30 AM–7:00 PM; scheduled Saturday, Sunday, and one weekday
- Floating within scope to meet facility needs or between like units/sister facilities is required
- Charting system: Epic
- Scrubs are provided by the facility
Requirements
- Active SC or Compact/Multi-State RN license required; candidates with a pending SC license may be considered
- Current AHA certifications required: BLS; radiation badge required (provided by agency)
- Minimum 2 years of OR RN experience strongly preferred
- Level I trauma center experience required
- Scrub experience strongly preferred
- Epic EMR experience
- Driver's license and SSN required for consideration
- Two professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years required for consideration
Additional Information
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Previous permanent or PRN staff of this health system must have been separated for at least 1 year before being eligible to return as a traveler
- Non-local candidates are prioritized; local candidates (within 60 miles of the facility) may be considered on a case-by-case basis
- All requested time off (RTO) must be submitted upfront at the time of consideration; RTO requests submitted after will not be accepted
- Orientation modules are completed prior to the start of the assignment
- During hurricane season (June–November), all employees and contractors may be assigned to emergency response teams; peak activity months are August and September
- There is a parking registration fee of $20 for a hang tag granting access to the designated parking garage
