Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN-Operating Room with strong robotics, ortho, and neuro experience for a midshift schedule with on-call requirements.

Details

• General Operating Room setting in a hospital
• Day shift schedule, 3x12 hours, 11:00 AM to 11:30 PM
• On-call required: 1 shift per week plus two 12-hour weekend shifts per month
• Floating required within scope to meet facility needs
• Epic charting system preferred
• Wide range of surgical specialties including vascular, gynecology, plastics, neurology, podiatry, general surgery, orthopedic, endoscopic, robotics, urology, ENT, and thoracic procedures
• Robotics experience with systems such as Da Vinci Xi and Mako Surgical System
• Equipment used includes electrosurgical units, fiber optic light sources, Hana Table, and Steris systems

Requirements

• Active FL or Compact RN license required
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required at time of submission (no pending certifications accepted)
• NIHSS certification required prior to start
• Minimum 2 years of direct RN Operating Room experience required
• Strong robotics, orthopedic, and neurology surgical experience required
• One professional reference required from a direct supervisor, ANM, or director in the OR specialty
• Negative 10-panel drug screen plus nicotine (cotinine) test required
• COVID-19 and Flu vaccines required with medical/religious exemptions only

Additional Information

• Perform circulating and scrub RN duties across a broad range of surgical specialties
• Facility is a smoke-free, nicotine-free environment for all staff
• Time-sensitive training modules must be completed promptly upon assignment confirmation
• EKG and Pharmacology tests required during orientation with a maximum of 2 attempts each and no remediation
• Travelers who fail orientation testing will be cancelled from the assignment
• Holiday coverage required for every other holiday
• All requested time off must be submitted and discussed at time of interview
• Local candidates accepted at the same bill rate
• Permanent or per diem staff cannot return to this health system for 1 year from their previous end date
• First-time travel nurses are welcome to apply
• Extensions may be granted for up to 18 months, followed by a required 6-month break before returning to this health system
