Description

American Traveler is hiring an RN for an Operating Room position specializing in liver transplant cases, requiring 2+ years of transplant experience and on-call availability.

Details

• Work in the Operating Room unit, specializing in transplant surgeries (heart, kidney, liver, lung) and organ donation procedures
• Day shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts, 11:00-23:30
• On-call responsibilities required
• Epic charting system experience preferred
• General OR surgical case exposure including appendectomy, cholecystectomy, colon resection, hernia repair, laparoscopic procedures, mastectomy, and Whipple procedures
• Uses electrosurgical units, fiber optic light sources/cords, Hana Table, and Steris equipment

Requirements

• Active FL or compact RN license required
• BLS certification required; ACLS preferred
• Minimum 2 years of OR experience with specific liver transplant experience required (procurement experience alone does not qualify)
• Skilled in infection control, laser safety, specimen handling/labeling, Universal Protocol (time out) procedures, urinary bladder catheterization, and wound management
• Knowledge of emergency management and fire safety protocols
• One professional reference from a direct supervisor, ANM, or director in the OR specialty required for consideration

• Provide perioperative nursing care for complex transplant surgical cases including heart, kidney, liver, and lung transplants
• Smoke-free facility with a strict no call-in policy
• EKG and pharmacology testing required during orientation, with a maximum of 2 attempts per test and no remediation for re-tests
• COVID-19 and flu vaccinations required, with medical or religious exemptions only
• Holiday coverage required on an every-other-holiday rotation
• RTO must be discussed during the interview process and submitted upfront
• Local candidates accepted at the same bill rate
• Permanent or per diem staff cannot return to this health system for 1 year from their previous end date
