Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Operating Room RN with Level I trauma experience for a short-term acute care hospital, requiring an IN or compact RN license.

Details

• Operating Room unit (Core 3 & 4) supporting General, Plastic, GYN, ENT, Trauma, Neuro, Ortho, GU, and Colorectal Robotics cases
• Average daily census of 70-80 patients across 21 OR rooms
• Day shift schedule, 3x12 hour shifts from 11:00 to 23:30
• On-call requirement of approximately 6 call shifts per 6-week period
• Floating required within the hospital or to nearby affiliate hospitals to meet facility needs
• Circulating duties required; scrub duties preferred
• Cerner charting system used

Requirements

• Active IN or compact RN license required in hand prior to start
• BLS certification required; ACLS and PALS preferred
• Minimum 3 years of OR nursing experience required (2 years acceptable with at least 1 year of Level I trauma experience)
• Level I trauma experience required
• Experience with a wide range of surgical specialties including General Surgery, Gynecology, Neurology, Orthopedics, Urology, ENT, and Robotics (Da Vinci Xi preferred)
• Must be well-rounded and current in most OR specialties, excluding CV and Transplant
• Graduate of an ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program
• 2 supervisor references required
• SSN and DOB required for consideration

• Provide circulating and scrubbing support across a wide range of surgical specialties and robotic procedures
• Scrubs provided by the facility

• Up to 5 days of non-holiday RTO can be auto-approved; additional time off requires facility approval
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Local candidates residing in Indiana are accepted at a lower pay package
• Former IU Health perm or PRN employees must wait 12 months before applying as a traveler
• Travelers who have accrued 12 months of travel employment within IU Health must take a consecutive break to reset eligibility (90 days for out-of-state residents, 180 days for in-state residents)
