Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Operating Room night shift position requiring thoracic and vascular experience and prior travel assignment history.

Details

• Work in the Operating Room department of a hospital setting
• Night shift schedule, 4x10 hours, Sunday-Wednesday 22:00-07:30
• Functions as charge nurse for night shift, scheduling and running cases
• Responsible for setting up rooms for the following day when no cases are scheduled
• Call coverage required on weekends; may be asked to work regular shifts on weekends to meet department needs
• No on-call requirement for night shift itself
• Floating to other ORs at the First Hill campus is possible
• Epic EMR experience preferred

Requirements

• Active WA state or compact RN license required in hand at submission
• Minimum 2 years of OR experience required
• Current certifications: BLS required; ACLS and CNOR preferred
• Must have thoracic and vascular surgical experience to take call independently
• Experience in general, urology, gyn, bariatrics, minor vascular, plastics, robotics, and thoracic cases required
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Teaching hospital and Trauma Level I/II experience preferred
• Must be organized, independent, and experienced scheduling OR cases

Additional Information

• Responsible for running the OR schedule, coordinating cases, and ensuring first case on-time starts
• Must commit to working 3 of the 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
• All RTO and scheduling requests must be submitted upfront; post-offer requests may not be accommodated
• Two supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years required prior to start
• Candidates must disclose any prior employment history with Providence facilities, including dates and location
• Former Providence permanent staff may return as travelers after a 3-month separation, provided they do not live within 50 miles of the facility
• Local candidates accepted at standard travel bill rate within a 50-mile radius
• First-time travelers will not be considered for this role
